Robots Set to Take Over Sporting Domain
Running at a speed of 300 metres a minute may be a long way off of Olympic speeds -- but it’s not bad for a soccer-playing robot.
More than a decade after the first robot centre kick-off, these athletic pieces of metal, plastic and cables, are slowly but surely conquering the world of sport. There are even rumblings that a team of fully autonomous humanoid robots will be developed by 2050 -- to play, and beat the human world soccer champions.
