Astronomers have known since 1922 that there was some invisible substance in between the stars. Now they've finally solved the mystery.
Scientists have long wondered what's in the wispy cloud of gas floating in...

Fuller....

Max 在《領導藝術》(Leadersp is an Art, 1987 pp.114-15)中舉Bucky 參觀當代著名的建築師 Norman Foster 的作品 。
沒想到最後Bucky 的提問,倒讓Norman 傻住了 : 'How much does it weigh?"
(It is important that we avoid an overcommitment or rigidity to a single function or need.")
Buckminsterfullerene (or bucky-ball) is a spherical fullerene molecule with the formula C60. It has a cage-like fused-ring structure (truncated icosahedron) which resembles asoccer ball, made of twenty hexagons and twelve pentagons, with a carbon atom at each vertex of each polygon and a bond along each polygon edge.
It was first generated in 1985 by Harold Kroto, James R. Heath, Sean O'Brien, Robert Curl, and Richard Smalley at Rice University.[2] Kroto, Curl and Smalley were awarded the 1996 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their roles in the discovery of buckminsterfullerene and the related class of molecules, the fullerenes. The name is a reference toBuckminster Fuller, as C60 resembles his trademark geodesic domes. Buckminsterfullerene is the most common naturally occurring fullerene molecule, as it can be found in small quantities in soot.[3][4] Solid and gaseous forms of the molecule have been detected in deep space.[5]
Buckminsterfullerene is one of the largest objects to have been shown to exhibit wave–particle duality; as stated in the theory every object exhibits this behavior.[6][7] Its discovery led to the exploration of a new field of chemistry, involving the study offullerenes.
