AI for the US President

Zoltan Istvan represents the Transhumanist Party and bills himself as “the science candidate” in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. He's pushing an unconventional platform that calls for gene editing, human life extension, and morphological freedom (the right to do anything to your body so long as it doesn’t harm others). His main goal in the election? Use his candidacy to popularize science and push for increased funding for scientific and technological research. And advocate for a Universal Basic Income to prepare for the coming age of robotic workers, among other things.

When a transhumanist runs for president, what does that mean for society?
