Virtually all seabirds have eaten plastic


Study by UC Santa Barbara's National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation will allow scientists to predict the global impact of plastics on avian marine species — and it isn’t pretty.
Thanks to its prevalence as garbage in the ocean, plastics have been ingested by 90 percent of individual seabirds now living.
